Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced a new version of the PS Vita at a press conference yesterday.
The PS Vita PCH-2000 will be 15 per cent lighter and 20 per cent thinner than the original, and will have a longer lasting battery. The new Wi-Fi only device will be released in Japan on 10 October for 18,980 JPY (US$190).
Other PS Vita PCH-2000 details include a switch from OLED to LCD touch screen, a micro-USB charger, 1GB storage capacity and a range of colour options (pink, black, blue, grey, lime green and yellow).
Global launch details are yet to be announced.
