Circa 200 billion JPY in auction bids filed with the Tokyo District Court last week included Sega Sammy among the 20 companies looking to purchase the assets of Index, bankrupt parent of Atlus.
As reported earlier, Index is seeking 15 billion JPY (US$148.7 million), in part from the auction sale of Atlus titles, to assist in dealing with 24.5 billion JPY (US$242.9 million) in debt.

Atlus is best known for its commercially successful and critically acclaimed Megami Tensei and Persona RPG series. Index acquired Atlus in 2006, and recently claimed bankruptcy due in part to investment losses from earlier acquisitions.
Reports say officials close to the proceedings expect a final candidate to be chosen as early as next week.
