Nintendo releases Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter in Asia

Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter

Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter applications for the Nintendo 3DS have been launched in Japan and other Asian territories, Nintendo has confirmed.

Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter provide cloud storage for up to 3,000 Pokémon characters, and are compatible with Pokémon Black and White, Pokémon Black and White Versions 2 and Pokémon X and Y games. The applications are similar to the storage games Pokémon Box Ruby and Sapphire and My Pokémon Ranch.

Nintendo originally launched the apps in Japan on 25 December, but holiday-related traffic worldwide brought down Nintendo’s eShop within hours of release, and the Pokémon apps were temporarily removed from the company’s online store.

Nintendo has yet to confirm Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter launch dates in North America and other markets overseas, but has announced that after a free 30-day trial, the combined apps will be priced at US$4.99 for year’s subscription.
