Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, an HD compilation exclusively for Sony PlayStation 3 featuring the Final Mix editions of the games Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, as well as HD remastered cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded for Nintendo DS, will launch in Japan on 2 October.
The publisher also revealed that the compilation title will be released overseas this winter, in North America on 2 December and in Europe on 5 December.
Kingdom Hearts 2, a sequel to the original game, was originally launched in 2005 for Sony PlayStation 2, with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix released in Japan for Sony PlayStation 2 in 2007. Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix was launched in Japan for Sony PlayStation Portable in 2011. Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix have never been previously released overseas.
