Yoshihisa Hashimoto, industry veteran and Square Enix CTO, has departed the company after six years.
Hashimoto joined Square Enix in 2009 from fellow Japanese publisher Sega, and was technical director for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. He was also responsible for the company’s Advanced Technology Division, leading development on the new Luminous game engine.
Hashimoto will reportedly continue to work with Square Enix as technical adviser for Final Fantasy 14 and the Luminous engine. A new CTO has yet to be appointed by Square Enix.
