Silent Scope returns to JP arcades

Silent Scope: Bone Eater

Konami has revealed that Silent Scope: Bone Eater, a new arcade version of Japanese publisher’s popular Silent Scope sniper sim series, is in development.

The Silent Scope franchise consists of the arcade original and three sequels, including a release for Nintendo Game Boy Advance. The game has also been ported to iOS devices. Silent Scope was slated for a new Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 release in 2011, but Konami decided to cancel the third-person reboot from Day 1 Studios.

Silent Scope: Bone Eater will be launched in Japanese arcades later this year. A release for other platforms and/or distribution overseas has yet to be announced by Konami.
