Tencent has announced an agreement with EA to distribute FIFA Online 3 in China.
Tencent continues to expand its overseas partnerships, which already include US developers Activision Blizzard (Call of Duty Online) and Riot Games (League of Legends), Korean NCSoft (Blade & Soul), as well as Japan’s Capcom (Monster Hunter online) and Namco Bandai (Naruto Online).

FIFA Online 3 will add a popular sports franchise to Tencent’s game portfolio, which is already the top online sports game in Korea. Tencent also distributes EA’s Plants vs. Zombies on mobile platforms in China.
Tencent VP Ma Xiaoyi notes that the domestic game market “is very mature, and forces us to look out.”
