Chem Caper, a educational role playing game that applies basic secondary school chemistry, is set to be released for iTunes and Google Play in July for seven countries including Malaysia and Singapore. Solving puzzles and quests using chemistry elements, ChemCaper will cover the basic secondary school chemistry syllabus. The game, developed by the Kuala Lumpur based ACE EdVenture Studios, is based on Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education. ACE EdVenture academic director, Melinda Lim said the game is aimed to help students understand Chemistry subject through play and connect the information. “We chose Chemistry to be first subject because it is frequently considered to be the hardest subject to pass,” Melinda Lim told. “Chemistry is one subject where every topic is interlinked and their ambition is to bring the subject to life on a medium which is second nature to Kids. By 2020, education as we know it will look nothing like today. Gamifying education is the way to reinvent education”. ACE EdVenure is also slated to include games focusing on Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
