Bandai Namco closes Shiftylook studio

Bandai Namco has confirmed that the Japanese publisher’s subsidiary Shiftylook will close this year. The developer of Namco character-based comics and browser games was established in 2012 to revitalise dormant Bandai Namco intellectual properties.

“Now that we have successfully revived so many franchises, the heavy lifting is completed – and so is our work,” said Shiftylook in a statement. “We battled the video games abyss and won, which means it’s time for us to move on and let the hit-makers play with some new toys.”

Shiftylook has also announced that the studio’s online game Namco High will be discontinued on 30 June and the iOS/Android title Binja Bash will be available for download until 30 March, with in-app purchases ending 16 March.
