Capcom confirms 15 titles for NVC

Mega Man

Capcom has announced 15 classic games for Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console to be released via Nintendo eShop in Europe and North America later this year.

The tiles include Gargoyle’s Quest 2, Street Fighter 2010 and Mighty Final Fight, originally released for Nintendo Entertainment System. Super NES games Breath of Fire, Mega Man X3, Mega Man VII and Demon’s Crest, as well as Nintendo GBA titles Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge are also among the games destined for the Wii U Virtual Console in 2014.

Capcom also confirmed that Mega Man Zero 2 and Mega Man Battle Network 2 and 3 are scheduled for Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console release next year.

The Virtual Console for Nintendo Wii, Wii U and 3DS game consoles is an online service that allows users to purchase and download titles originally released on past home and handheld consoles, including the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Nintendo 64, as well as Sega Master System and Mega Drive/Genesis, NEC TurboGrafx-16 and SNK Neo Geo AES.

Earlier this year Nintendo also re-released selected Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance titles worldwide for download via the Wii U Virtual Console platform on the Nintendo eShop.

According to Nintendo, Virtual Console titles for the Wii, Wii U and 3DS platforms have been downloaded over ten million times worldwide since the service was launched in December 2007.
