Square Enix has launched a beta version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on Sony PlayStation 4, in conjunction with the 22 February launch of Sony’s next-generation console in Japan.
The PS4 beta version is open to all PS4 owners, and players registered to play the online title on PS3 can transfer their accounts to PS4 on 11 April. As reported earlier, the popular MMORPG will be released worldwide for Sony PlayStation 4 on 14 April.
FF XIV: A Realm Reborn was released globally for PS3 and Windows PC in August last year. After initial server issues, the game’s popularity well exceeded the publisher’s expectations, with over 1.5 million players registered worldwide within months of the title’s launch.
