Korea’s CJ E&M Netmarble has partnered with F2P mobile social game publisher Kabam to bring a yet to be announced mobile title overseas.
“Kabam is a great partner for us on this project we want to share with a new audience of Western gamers,” said CJ Netmarble Global Strategy EVP and CJ Games Global CEO Seungwon Lee. “We know that Kabam has a proven track record of working with Asian companies so we embrace the opportunity to utilize their publishing infrastructure to meet our combined goals as we grow our business out West.”
In February the US-based publisher announced the establishment of operations in Seoul. CJ Netmarble’s US subsidiary CJ Games Global has also recently set-up offices in San Francisco.
“Partnering with CJ Netmarble is a tremendous opportunity,” said Kabam Publishing President Amit Ranade. “Our mission is to introduce only the best games from Asian developers to the Western world, and this upcoming game is sure to delight new gamers in Western regions.”
Last year Chinese online game developer JoyYou also partnered with Kabam to localise and distribute the Shanghai studio’s popular browser based MMORPG Three Kingdoms Fighter (JJSG) overseas. Kabam has confirmed that the title will be released in June.
