Konami has confirmed the appointment of former EVP Tomohiro Uesugi as president of Konami’s US subsidiary, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
“I am honoured and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the head of our talented and passionate employees, and I have a deep respect for our community of fans,” said Uesugi in a statement. “We will focus on our talent and iconic brands as we continue to provide innovative products for even deeper and more enjoyable experiences to our customers.”

Uesugi replaces Tomoyuki Tsuboi, head of the publisher’s US operations since February 2012. In Konami’s latest financial report, the company lowered revenue estimates sharply, with Konami’s gaming division reporting sales of US$98.3 million, well below expectations.
Konami plans to release 14 new games over the next 12 months. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 debuted worldwide last month, and the latest sequel in the publisher’s flagship Metal Gear franchise will launch in two parts this year.
