Former Capcom producer and Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has announced his studio’s next game, a Japanese-style side-scrolling action title called Mighty No. 9, and launched a funding drive on Kickstarter.
Inafune has said that Mighty No. 9 will be also be turning to fans of the Mega Man series for feedback and design inspiration, as well as funding to produce the game, slated for launch in 2015.

According to the studio, Mighty No. 9 is planned for PCs with distribution via Steam and other DRM-free digital distribution channels, with consoles, Mac and Linux a “high priority, but only if we can afford them via stretch goals.”
Mighty No. 9, which has a funding goal of US$900,000, has reached over US$375,000 in its first day on Kickstarter. Further details here.
