Square Enix has announced that Drakengard 3, a prequel the original Drakengard action RPG, will launch in North America exclusively for Sony PlayStation 3 on 20 May.
Drakengard 3 was released in Japan last December to positive reviews and strong launch sales.
The first game in the series was launched in 2003 for PS2 in Japan, with overseas editions released in 2004. A sequel (Drakengard 2) and spin-off title (Nier) as well as a Europe-exclusive Drakengard mobile game have also been produced.
