NCSoft reported fourth quarter revenues of 210,026 million KRW, up 24 per cent from the previous period, but down by 26 per cent from last year. Net profit rose also to 45,714 million KRW in the quarter compared to the previous three-months, but reflected a year-on-year decrease of 55 per cent.
The Korean publisher attributed the fall mainly to declining Guild Wars 2 revenues. The flagship title launched in late 2012. NCSoft developer ArenaNet and studio responsible for Guild Wars 2 also reported a 30 per cent year-on-year drop in revenues for the fiscal year, despite recording profits in 2013. The company expects Guild Wars 2 earnings to rise significantly in 2014 with the upcoming Chinese release of the title.

NCSoft also announced 2013 fiscal year earnings of 756,656 million KRW, down slightly from 2012, with net profits of 158,560 million KRW, up 3 per cent year-on-year. The company noted increased royalty revenues with the 2013 launch of Blade and Soul in China, as well as strong earnings from the company’s Lineage title in Korea. Increased annual profits were attributed to lower labour and marketing expenses for the year.
