Nexon America has announced that the Tokyo-based publisher has partnered with Canadian developer United Front Games to exclusively publish the studio’s upcoming F2P title, slated for release next year.

“We are committed to bringing a new line-up of AAA-quality free-to-play games to the Western market, and our partnership with United Front Games is another step toward achieving this goal,” said Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney. “United Front Games’ team has a great track record of developing successful titles, and we’re looking forward to showing the world what our combined strengths can create in 2015.”

In May the publisher acquired a stake in social and mobile game developer Socialspiel Entertainment, securing Nexon exclusive worldwide publishing rights for the Austrian studio’s titles. Nexon will also publish the online FPS Dirty Bomb from UK studio Splash Damage this year and the online survival horror game Human Element from Los Angeles-based developer Robotoki in 2015.

In February Nexon reported stable earnings for the 2013 final quarter and fiscal year, with annual revenues up 43 per cent to 155.3 billion JPY, and both operating and net income rising 7 per cent year-on-year to 50.7 billion JPY and 30.1 billion JPY respectively.

Earlier this year the company also announced former chief executive Seungwoo Choi’s retirement and the appointment of Owen Mahoney as president and CEO.
