Chinese developer and game operator Perfect World has announced an unlimited closed beta for Valve’s hit online RPG/RTS title DotA 2 in China from 25 September.
“We have been working diligently to localise DotA 2 for Chinese players, and we are now ready to launch unlimited closed beta testing in China for the game,” said Robert Xiao, Perfect World CEO in a statement. “We highly look forward to embracing a new world of players to the game and bringing them abundant excitement and fun.”
Perfect World has an exclusive license for distribution of the F2P online title in China, with Valve managing DotA 2 in North America, Europe and other overseas markets. The game is especially popular in e-sports competitions, with teams competing for both peer recognition and cash prizes.
