Altitude Games has raised US$275k in seed funding to jumpstart development of original intellectual property with mid-core mobile game titles.
“Southeast Asia has previously been known as a great place to outsource game development, but we’re 100 per cent focused on creating original intellectual property for mobile games,” said Altitude Games CEO Gabby Dizon. “We want to combine mid-core themes and casual accessibility to make games that are easy to pick up but contain deep gameplay that you can enjoy with your friends.”
Philippines-based Altitude Games is composed of veterans in the Southeast Asian game development scene, including CEO Gabby Dizon, formerly head of business development and production at Boomzap Entertainment as well as former Flipside Games CEO and IGDA Philippines president; Luna Cruz, former senior designer at Boomzap; Paul Gadi, former production lead at Gameloft Philippines and CTO at Anino Mobile; Marc Polican, former lead programmer at Boomzap and Gameloft Philippines; and Chester Ocampo, former art director at Imaginary Friends Studios.
“We’ve all been friends for more than 10 years now, but this is the first time we’re all working together,” said studio co-founder Luna Cruz. “We all love playing mobile games and I’m excited to see what our collaboration will bring.”
Technology investor Nix Nolledo, Level Up! Games co-founder Philip Cahiwat, an undisclosed angel investor and members of the founding team provided seed funding to the studio.
