Pokémon OR/AS global launch dated

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that new Nintendo 3DS versions of the popular Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire titles for Nintendo GBA will launch worldwide on 21 November.

“Pokémon fans first enjoyed ‘Pokémon Ruby Version’ and ‘Pokémon Sapphire Version’ when it launched in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance,” said the developer in an earlier statement. “Now, a whole new generation of Pokémon fans will experience the dramatic storyline that unfolds in ‘Pokémon Omega Ruby’ and ‘Pokémon Alpha Sapphire’.”

The revamped 3DS editions will join the popular new franchise releases Pokémon X and Pokémon Y on the handheld platform. In April The Pokémon Company revealed that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had sold over 12 million units worldwide since the games’ release in October 2013.

The Pokémon franchise has sold over 245 million games since the series began in 2006.
