Sony Pictures Television is developing an adaptation of the Powers comic book series to debut on the Sony PlayStation Network in North America.
“It’s about having a broad range of broadcast content to replicate the live TV experience,” said SCE president and CEO Andrew House in a statement. “It overlays extremely well with the demographics of the PlayStation,” added Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton.
The Powers superhero detective series, created and owned by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Avon Oeming, was first published by Image Comics in 2000. The series joined Marvel Comics in 2004.
