Singapore based games studio gumi Asia is collaborating with Japan’s Square Enix on the global version of a new game in the Final Fantasy series.
The role-playing game, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, was first published in Japan in October last year and has drawn more than six million players since launch. Now, the rest of the world will be able to get their hands on it when it is released for free on iOS and Android devices in the middle of the year.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius “brings classic Final Fantasy lore with legendary heroes from the franchise”, according to a press release.
Gumi Asia will be operating and developing the global version of the game, which will operate separately from the Japanese version. The company is probably best known for the global release of mobile game Brave Frontier.
Interested players can pre-register online for the game to receive special in-game items when it launches.
