Sony has revealed that PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 F2P revenues have risen by 50 per cent year-on-year.
The Japanese publisher also noted in a presentation at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco that conversion rates to paying customers are averaging 3-15 per cent, comparable to F2P titles on PC platforms.
F2P PS3/PS4 games include Blacklight: Retribution, War Thunder, DC Universe Online, Warframe and Dust 514. SOE is also reportedly developing PS4 versions of the F2P MMOFPS Planetside 2 and the upcoming F2P MMORPG EverQuest series sequel EverQuest Next.
