Japanese game publisher Square Enix has announced that the company’s popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released worldwide for Sony PlayStation 4 on 14 April.
The publisher has also confirmed the game’s beta launch date for 22 February. The beta version will be open to all PS4 owners. Players registered to play the online title on PS3 can transfer their accounts to PS4 on 11 April.
As reported earlier, FF XIV: A Realm Reborn was released globally for PS3 and Windows PC in August last year. After initial server issues, the game’s popularity well exceeded the publisher’s expectations, with over 1.5 million players registered worldwide within months of the title’s launch.
