According to a report from Japanese business daily Nikkei, Sega is leading an initiative by 15 mobile game developers in Japan to cross-promote their titles on smartphones.
The report notes that with a combined user base of over 20 million, the new network will compete with established Japanese mobile game distributors like Gree and DeNA’s Mobage, as well as mobile messaging service game platforms like Line and Kakao.

The alliance is also said to be planning to use in-game advertisements to encourage players to move from one game to another inside the new network, with online launch promotion scheduled for later this year.
