After a company restructuring following heavy losses in the previous fiscal year, Square Enix has announced stable net revenues of 102.47 billion JPY (US$1.01 billion) during the last three fiscal quarters of 2013.
Square Enix also reported operating income of 7.82 billion JPY (US$77.23 million) with 5.18 billion JPY ($51.15 million) in net income for the period. The results show a strong improvement over the company’s operating loss of 4.85 billion JPY and 5.75 billion JPY net income loss over the same period last fiscal year.
The company attributes the positive results to strong console game sales in North America, as well as “favourable progress” on other platforms/in other regions and revenues from the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn.
“Revenues from distribution of console game titles in North America were strong,” said Square Enix in a statement in the latest fiscal report to shareholders. “Software sales and operation of (Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn) have been making favourable progress.”

Square Enix forecasts for the full fiscal year end remain unchanged at 140-150 billion JPY in net revenues, with operating income between 5-9 billion JPY and net income between 3.5-6 billion JPY.
