Korean creative industry support agency KOCCA has partnered with leading Korean games localiser Latis Global Communications to launch Big Indie 40, a non-profit project aimed at localising and publishing the best of Korea’s indie games overseas.
“It’s hard for Korean indie games to get recognition in the current environment of the game market,” said Latis Global Communications CEO Steve Yoon. “We want to help the industry by giving smaller companies a chance to be seen and heard.”
The Big Indie 40 programme will continue until June, with Latis providing translation, QA and customer support services at no cost to participating developers. The first ten completed games will debut at the Game Developer’s Conference in March.
