Samsung Ventures has confirmed that the Samsung VC subsidiary has invested an undisclosed sum in US-based cloud technology firm BlueStacks.

“There is no one bigger in both the Android and TV ecosystems than Samsung,” said BlueStacks CEO Rosen Sharma. “Their advice on how to navigate distribution channels has already been invaluable.”

According BlueStacks, the company’s upcoming Android-based game micro-console and subscription service, GamePop, will be compatible with any Android or Linux-based Smart TV or cable box.

In March Japanese mobile game publisher Gree also announced a partnership with BlueStacks to distribute Gree’s Android OS titles on BlueStacks’ GamePop service.
