Asian devs honoured at Indie Prize event

Indie Prize

Several Asia-Pacific independent game companies were honoured at the Indie Prize ceremony at Casual Connect Europe in Amsterdam last month.

The Women’s Indie Award winner was Arpita Kapoor from Mech Mocha in India. Among the Platform Indie Prize Award winners was Entertainment Forge, based in the Philippines and Serbia.

In the Games Featured by AppStore category, the winners included Pretentious Game Mobile, published by Bulkypix and created by Keybol development studio from the Philippines, as well as Alien Hive, developed and published by AppXplore in Malaysia.

Casual Connect’s Indie Prize is a scholarship program for up and coming indie development teams who show promise to be future leaders in the games industry. The event’s workshops, showcase venue fees and mentoring are financially supported by industry sponsors, conferences and volunteers.

The next Indie Prize event will run in conjunction with Casual Connect Asia in Singapore this May.
