The voice communication platform, Curse Voice, has surpassed 16 million friendships. Curse Inc. launched its Skype-like platform for gamers, Curse Voice, in 2014. After the launch of its free-to-use software, Curse raised $16 million in both venture funding and debt which now totals $22 million to date. The voice-over-Internet-protocol program (VoIP) allows users to share a voice session with the click of a button while offering up an extra layer of security to reduce the risk of your information falling into the wrong hands. “There are things that we are doing with the platform that allow you to import your friends from multiple platforms. We believe in the fact that gamers don’t always play the same game forever, and you shouldn’t lose your friends when you switch a game, so Curse Voice can actually import those friends, and let you retain those connections over time,” explains Donovan Duncan, VP of Marketing for Curse Inc.
Curse Voice uses Aerospike technology to guarantee consistent low latency and uninterrupted availability for its millions of users. Aerospike helps to deliver new friends lists and instant messaging capabilities. Curse Voice currently has over 3.5 million total sign-ups, 1.1 million monthly active users with 16 million total friendships and 92 million sent messages.
