Seoul-based game publisher Gamevil has announced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco that the company plans to release five Korean mobile titles for iOS and Android devices overseas.
The games include the RPG Zenonia Online, a popular title distributed via the Kakao mobile messaging platform in Korea, as well as the RPG Dungeon Link, MMOG Elements Epic Heroes and RTS Mark of the Dragon.
According the company, Gamevil works with over 70 game studios to publish their games on a variety of mobile platforms, including messaging platforms Kakao in Korea and Line in Japan. Gamevil also claims over 300 million downloads in Korea, Japan and the US since the company’s founding in 2000, and published 46 games with revenues of US$70 million in 2012.
Last year Gamevil also invested circa US$65 million for a majority stake in competitor Com2uS, purchased Korean mobile studio Nine Wheels and made equity investments in Korean developers Everple and DBROS.
