Koei Tecmo has announced that Japanese developer Gust will officially merge with the parent company on 1 October.
Nagano-based Gust Co. Ltd. was founded in 1993 and acquired by Koei Tecmo in 2011. The studio is best known for the Atelier RPG series, which began with Atelier Marie for Sony PlayStation in 1997.
The eleventh and most recent instalment in Gust’s Atelier franchise, Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, was first released in Japan for Sony PlayStation 3 in 2009 and overseas in 2010. A remake titled Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland was launched for Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan last November, and overseas in June.
