Social/mobile game publisher King Digital Entertainment has established a subsidiary in Japan. King’s Tokyo office will be led by Ken Edahiro, former Gloops CMO.
Earlier this month King slated the Chinese release of the company’s mega-hit Candy Crush Saga, in partnership with Chinese publisher and Internet operator Tencent, for mid-2014. Last year the US-based publisher released Candy Crush Saga in Japan, as well as in Korea in cooperation with Kakao Talk.
King also announced last December that Candy Crush Saga had over 93 million DAUs worldwide. King’s IPO in March also set the value of the company at approximately US$7 billion.
