Japanese publisher Starfish has confirmed that the Nintendo 3DS version of Steel Empire will be launched in North America later this year. The remake of the classic Sega Genesis steam-punk shooter was released in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS in March.
Japanese publisher Starfish, founded by the original Steel Empire developers, has partnered with Tokyo-based Mebuis studio to develop the 3DS version.

The title was first launched in Japan for the Sega Genesis in 1992, and re-released on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance in 2004. A Steel Empire sequel, titled Burning Steel, is also reportedly in development.
