Bandai Namco has announced the upcoming Japanese release of a new title in the popular Taiko no Tatsujin (Taiko Drum Master) franchise. Taiko Drum Master: Don and Katsu’s Space-Time Great Adventure for Nintendo 3DS will launch in Japan on 26 June.
The Taiko no Tatsujin series of rhythm games were first released by Namco for Japanese arcades, with customised ‘drum’ controllers and cabinets, in 2001. Games in the franchise have been launched in Japan on Sony and Nintendo consoles, as well as on mobile platforms including iOS and Android.
Titles in the Taiko no Tatsujin series have seen limited release overseas, with a Sony PlayStation 2 game (including a ‘drum’ controller) and two mobile games published in North America, as well as several mobile titles in Taiwan and Korea, and localised arcade versions in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.
An overseas release for Taiko Drum Master: Don and Katsu’s Space-Time Great Adventure has yet to be announced by Bandai Namco.
