Nintendo has announced the upcoming release of new tiles in the Super Smash Bros. series for the company’s latest generation of handheld and home consoles.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will launch worldwide in mid-2014, with the Wii U edition slated for later this year.

The Super Smash Bros. series, a fighting game crossover featuring characters from Nintendo franchises including Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon, was originally launched worldwide for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999.
Developed by Japanese studio HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, Super Smash Bros. titles for the Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii have sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
