According to the latest Japanese charts from Media Create, Grand Theft Auto 5 has already sold more units than any other Western title previously released in Japan.
The PlayStation 3 version of GTA 5 has sold 360,115 units in its first week, with the Xbox 360 version recording 26,612 units sold. The combined total also exceeds the lifetime sales of GTA 4 in Japan.
Analysts Cowen & Company estimate GTA 5’s global sales to date at over 15 million, and predict total worldwide sales of 25 million units by next year.
