Sony announces over 1M PS4s sold on launch in NA

Sony has confirmed that over one million PlayStation 4 units have been sold since the console’s release on 15 November in North America.

“Sales remain very strong in North America,” said SCE CEO Andrew House. “We expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on 29 November.”



As reported earlier, Sony PlayStation 4 will launch in Korea on 17 December for 498,000 KRW (US$490), with 19 games available at launch. The console will go on sale in Hong Kong on 17 December for 3,380 HKD (US$436) and Singapore on 19 December for 639 SGD (US$510), with 23 games (including seven localised Chinese titles) available at launch.

Sony’s newest flagship game console will also be released in Australia on 29 November for AU$549 (US$516), with 22 games available at launch. Sony PlayStation 4 will launch in Europe and Latin American countries on 29 November.
