Square Enix has slated the worldwide launch of the publisher’s delayed F2P RPG Deadman’s Cross for Android and iOS devices for 19 February.
“On this project, we always had the West in mind since the very beginning,” said Deadman’s Cross producer Shinichi Tatsuke. “To this end, the world we created for Deadman’s Cross is more or less the polar opposite of the fantasy-themed world used in Guardian Cross (Tatsuke’s former title) or other Square Enix titles.

The upcoming release of the Western-orientated mobile RPG follows Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda’s announcement that the Japanese publisher would be placing renewed emphasis on the company’s core JRPG market, shifting away from an unsuccessful recent foray into titles with wider expected global appeal.
