Chinese publisher and Internet operator Tencent will distribute King Digital Entertainment’s mega-hit Candy Crush Saga via the company’s Mobile QQ and Weixin (WeChat) messaging platforms.
“Tencent always hopes to bring global premier mobile games to China, and Candy Crush is one of the best,” said Tencent SVP Steven Ma. “We are excited that our collaboration will combine King’s enjoyable mobile gaming experience and Tencent’s strong game publishing and operation capabilities in China.”

King has also slated the Chinese release of the company’s popular mobile puzzler for mid-2014. The US-based publisher released Candy Crush Saga in Korea and Japan last year.
“I am thrilled to be launching Candy Crush Saga with Tencent in China,” said King CEO Riccardo Zacconi in a statement. “Tencent has the largest mobile social network in China and is a great partner to work with. I look forward to working together to make Candy Crush Saga as popular in China as in the rest of the world.”
King announced last December that Candy Crush Saga had over 93 million DAUs worldwide. King’s IPO in March also set the value of the company at approximately US$7 billion.
