Sony has confirmed that the on-going private beta of the publisher’s PlayStation Now game streaming platform for PlayStation 4 will transition to open beta in North America on 31 July.
The open beta will also be extended to Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms shortly thereafter, said Sony in a statement.
Announced in January, the PlayStation Now game streaming and rental platform will allow Sony hardware owners (including PS4/PS3 consoles, handheld PS Vita and other Sony devices like HDTVs, tablets and smart phones) to stream games from PlayStation Now cloud servers.
Sony PlayStation Now is scheduled to roll-out worldwide in mid-2014.
