Chinese mobile game development, publishing and middleware company Chukong Technologies has announced a partnership with San Francisco-based mobile monetisation platform Chartboost.

Chukong will offer Chartboost access to developers in China’s mobile market, and Chartboost will help Chukong to expand the Chinese publisher’s global reach.

“After using Chartboost’s analytics for our titles launched in North America, we believe their technology is just what Chinese developers need,” said Chukong Technologies US GM Lei Zhang in a statement. “The combination of Chartboost’s tools and our local market expertise will provide a premier monetisation solution for the millions of China-based app developers.”

Chukong Technologies produces mobile games under the Coco label, as well as localises and publishes mobile titles from Gameloft, Nexon, Disney, Gamevil, and Konami as Cocoa China. Under the new CoCo Studio brand, the company also develops and supports Cocos2D-x, a cross-platform open source game engine for iOS and Android OS, as well as Windows, Mac and HTML5 platforms.

“There are enormous opportunities in emerging mobile markets, and this partnership is the first step in a larger global strategy for Chartboost,” said Chartboost CEO Maria Alegre in a statement. “Working together with Chukong, we can empower Chinese app developers to get the exposure and data they need in the fastest-growing mobile market in the world.”
