China’s Ministry of Commerce has formally approved Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s devices and services division.
“Nokia and Microsoft have now received regulatory approvals from the People’s Republic of China, the European Commission, the US Department of Justice and numerous other jurisdictions,” said Microsoft and Nokia in a statement.

Microsoft is still awaiting official approval of the US$7.2 billion acquisition in India, where the state government of Tamil Nadu claims Nokia owes US$414 million in unpaid duties.
The companies have also announced that final merger approval by all relevant authorities worldwide is expected by the end of April.
