Square Enix has reported that the publisher’s MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has registered over 2 million player accounts worldwide.
Square Enix launched a beta version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for Sony PlayStation 4 in February and the worldwide final release was on 14 April.
FF XIV: A Realm Reborn was released globally for PS3 and Windows PC in August last year. Users registered to play the online title on PS3 can also transfer their accounts to the PS4 version.

After initial server issues, the game’s popularity well exceeded the publisher’s expectations, with over 1.5 million players registered worldwide within months of the title’s launch.
