According to the latest report from mobile analyst App Annie, the iOS App Store continues to outperform Google Play for Android devices, earning 80 per cent more revenue worldwide.
Japan leads both iOS and Android sales globally, and Chinese iOS revenues also rose by 20 per cent in the first half of the year. With the US, China and Japan account for over half of iOS earnings.

“China is proving to be pivotal in Apple’s international growth strategy,” said App Annie in the report. “In its Q2 2014 earnings call, Apple reported records high revenue in China of almost US$10 billion, inclusive of retail sales.”
