Following the termination of Lab Zero Games’ publishing agreement with Konami, the Japanese publisher has requested that the US studio’s popular 2D fighter Skullgirls be removed from the PlayStation Network on 17 December, and the Xbox Live Arcade version delisted by 31 December.
Skullgirls was originally developed by Reverge Labs and co-published by Autumn Games and Konami. The game was released on PSN and XBLA in North America, Europe and Australia in mid-2012, and launched by CyberFront on PSN in Japan earlier this year.
The original development team formed Lab Zero Games and created a Window PC version of the title in 2012, co-published by Autumn Games and Marvelous AQL and released in August 2013.
Lab Zero is reportedly developing a new version of Skullgirls to be published by Autumn Games on PSN in North America and Europe, Marvelous AQL on XBLA, and CyberFront on PSN in Japan.
