Australia’s Classification Board has decided to uphold the MA15+ ratings of 12 games reviewed at the request of South Australian Attorney-General John Rau in November.
The Australian Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA) had been critical of the move and voiced supported for the board’s final decision. “Most video games that are sold in Australia are assessed against a set of strict guidelines,” IGEA CEO Ron Curry. “The results of the review confirm our faith in the Classification Board to interpret and apply the guidelines appropriately.”
As reported earlier, Rau requested the Classification Review Board review the MA15+ ratings for Alien Rage, Borderlands 2 Expansion Packs, Company of Heroes 2, Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut, Deadpool, Fuse, Gears of War: Judgment, God Mode, Killer is Dead, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist, The Walking Dead: 400 Days and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
