Microsoft has announced over 3 million Xbox One units sold from the game console’s mid-November launch in thirteen markets to end of 2013. As reported earlier, the Xbox One debuted in thirteen territories on 21 November, including the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
“Together, we ushered in a new era of games and entertainment with Xbox One,” said Microsoft SVP Yusuf Mehdi.
However, Mehdi has joined Microsoft Studios CVP Phil Spencer in expressing disappointment with Xbox One supply delays in the console’s final eight launch regions. “Demand is exceeding supply in our thirteen launch markets. Xbox One is sold out at most retailers.”
Microsoft had already delayed the Nordic release of the new console until mid-2014. The Xbox One will launch in Japan and other Asian countries before year end.
