Microsoft has announced “record-setting” initial sales of over 2 million units for the company’s recently launched Xbox One game console.
“Demand is exceeding supply in our thirteen launch markets,” said Microsoft SVP Yusuf Mehdi. “Xbox One is sold out at most retailers.”
As reported earlier, the Xbox One debuted in thirteen territories on 21 November, including the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Microsoft’s newest game console will be released in Japan and other Asian countries before the end of 2014.
Asian launch dates and pricing have yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
