Nintendo reports lifetime 3DS/3DS XL/2DS sales of over 11.5 million units, with more than 16 million combined packaged and digital Nintendo 3DS titles sold in 2013, up 45 per cent from 2012.

“Nintendo 3DS is a powerhouse with games and experiences that appeal to all kinds of players,” said Sales & Marketing EVP Scott Moffitt. “We’re not slowing down in 2014. With more games featuring fan favourite franchises on the way, the best days of Nintendo 3DS are still to come.”

However, Nintendo lowered the company’s Wii U sales forecast to 4.3 million for the 2014 fiscal year, down from the previous estimate of 6.8 million units.
